Over the years Internet Explorer (IE) held ground as the best because it did not really have any competition, now unfortunately the web has evolved and Internet Explorer is years behind the competition. They do not have great support of HTML5 nor CSS3. You can see the differences in rendering between 3 top internet browsers here.

You can see how the simple form does not render the same, nor does it have the CSS style the other 2 have (rounded corners).
What I really do not understand is that IE has been behind for 4-6 years or longer, yet they still have a handicapped product.
As for me I use Firefox and Google’s Chrome for development and browsing.
